28th July 2007 - Round 14: Scotch VS CBC

A1: CBC 0 - Scotch 0
B1: CBC 5 - Scotch 1

A1 Summary

In a game that we approached only thinking that we should get a win from we came away with a disappointing draw! In fact a win was no more than we deserved as we had that many scoring chances but alas CBCs unbeatable keeper kept us at bay with a string of unbelievable blocks and stops!

We started the game welcoming back Goal machine Baard, a very tired and jet-lagged Eirik and a debut from our new American friend Clop. A back 3 of Eirik, John and Geordie was behind Paps, Fergie, Mitris, Max and Clop with Baard and Paul up front, and as ever the ever impressive Dietmar in goal. First things first, Dietmar had only a few things to do but what he did was impressive the flying fingertip save to put the ball over was brilliant, even if you did throw it to the CBC player! Everyone played a solid game, the back 3 never looked in trouble. Fergie had one of his thunderbolts from distance brilliantly saved. Paul was denied by the keeper again Paps had two shots turned away when a goal seemed destined. Clop had a great one-on-one blocked and Jordan hit the bar. What could we do to score????

Thanks to Eirik for his efforts after only getting back into Adelaide at 11am from Norway after spending 14hrs overnight in Melbourne Airport and to Chris for giving us 20mins even though he was ill!

Paul had his best game so far for us and Maxy and Mitris ran and ran all day up and down the wings. A great all round performance from the boys, a solid defence from Geordie and Eirik playing out of positions and a great debut from a man to match Maxy's title of Mr Health Club, Clop!!!

3 Votes - Max

Oh yeah, did I mention that Paps missed an open goal and fell over when running on Goal????
Geordie told me to write that mate.

B1 Summary

I didn't see much of this game but what i did see was an ever-committed bunch of lads giving everything and getting little in the way of luck or good fortune.

Great Displays from the Norwegian boys of Lars, Harald and Hoorvad and the Tractor Boy himself James.
